Psychological Testing

 

Aspire Counseling Services is pleased to introduce Dr. John Spores to our team of talented professionals and to our practice.  As a Ph.D, H.S.P.P. he provides psychological testing to clients of all ages and can accommodate a myriad of testing needs.  

Dr. Spores is a psychologist with over thirty years of experience in the mental health field providing treatment and testing to individuals seeking a diagnostic evaluation. He is recognized by the Indiana State Bar from 1999 as an Attorney at Law to present.  He has been a professor of Psychology at Purdue University Northwest since 1991.  Dr. Spores is also an author of four published books regarding the fundamentals of psychological assessment, case studies in psychological assessment and testing, guiding clinicians in assessment and testing and effective practice with forms and templates for clinicians.  He has also authored several journal articles regarding the use of the Rorschach in the detection of psychosis in adolescents with chronic daily cannabis use, the use of computers in schools, with colleagues D.K. Frazier and A.M. Trekles, and the attribution of morality with colleague G.D.Reader.  He has research in producing norms in social cognitive and object relations scales-global rating methods using the TAT and further test development of the Holtzman Inkblot Technique and its relation to the Rorschach Inkblot Test.

Dr. Spores is passionate about his work with clients and helping them determine diagnosis using psychological testing.  He has developed a distinguised battery of test to help client determine diagnosis, treatment planning, and type of interventions needed to address their needs.
